The Butterfly Effect Engine is an informational intelligence platform that surfaces and analyzes publicly reported world events and their potential market implications. All content — including events, forecasts, recommendations, cascade analyses, and model performance metrics — is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

Nothing on the Platform constitutes investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, nor an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security or instrument. Forecasts, probabilities, and trade recommendations are AI-generated estimates based on available data and may be incorrect. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions and should consult a qualified financial advisor before acting on any information provided.

Markets are inherently unpredictable. The Platform's forecasts, confidence scores, and historical analogs may not reflect future outcomes. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data or analysis. Past model performance does not guarantee future results.

You must provide accurate account information and are responsible for safeguarding your credentials. Free-plan access includes a time-limited trial and may be supported by advertising. Paid plans unlock additional features; you may cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive use of the Platform or its Developer API.

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor (Stripe). By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until cancellation. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds, where applicable, are handled at our discretion. Plan pricing, quotas, and features may change with reasonable notice.

API keys are granted per subscribed plan and carry usage limits and rate restrictions. You must keep your key confidential and are responsible for all usage under your key. We may throttle or suspend access for abusive or excessive consumption. API data is provided "as is" and may not be redistributed without authorization.

You agree not to misuse the Platform, including by attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload its systems, or using it for any unlawful purpose. You may not use the Platform to make investment decisions on behalf of others without appropriate licensing.

8.1 Ownership. The Platform, including all software, source code, databases, algorithms, models, methodologies, forecasts, recommendations, cascade analyses, historical analogs, confidence scores, model-performance data, user-interface design, documentation, branding, logos, and all related intellectual property (collectively, the "Proprietary Materials"), are and remain the exclusive property of the Butterfly Effect Engine or its licensors. No title, ownership, or intellectual property rights in the Proprietary Materials are transferred to you under these Terms.

8.2 Proprietary Methodologies. The Platform's analytical engines — including event-to-market mapping, Bayesian probability calibration, butterfly-effect cascade analysis, forecast accountability scoring, correlation-divergence detection, and historical-analog retrieval — constitute proprietary methodologies and trade secrets of the Butterfly Effect Engine. You may not extract, replicate, reverse-engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive or re-create these methodologies, whether from the Platform's outputs, documentation, or any other source.

8.3 Limited License. Subject to these Terms and an active subscription, the Butterfly Effect Engine grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Platform for your own internal analysis and decision-support purposes. This license does not include any right to redistribute, resell, syndicate, white-label, sublicense, or commercially exploit any Platform output, data feed, or API response.

8.4 Restrictions. You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to: (a) reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or underlying logic of the Platform; (b) scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Platform's interfaces, feeds, or outputs; (c) use Platform outputs to train, fine-tune, or develop any competing model, dataset, analytics product, or intelligence service; (d) redistribute, republish, resell, lease, or sublicense access to the Platform or its outputs to any third party; (e) remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, watermarks, or attribution; or (f) use the Butterfly Effect Engine name, marks, or branding without prior written consent.

8.5 Trade Secrets. The Proprietary Materials, including unpatented methodologies, model architectures, calibration parameters, scoring rubrics, and data-processing pipelines not publicly disclosed, are considered trade secrets of the Butterfly Effect Engine. You acknowledge that unauthorized use or disclosure of these trade secrets may cause irreparable harm and may be subject to legal remedy beyond monetary damages.

8.6 Developer API Outputs. Data, signals, and responses obtained through the Developer API are licensed solely for your internal use under your subscribed API plan and may not be cached for resale, republished, or used to build a derivative data product without express written authorization. API access and associated rights terminate immediately upon cancellation or expiration of your API plan.

8.7 Feedback. Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide regarding the Platform may be used by the Butterfly Effect Engine without restriction or obligation, and all related rights are hereby assigned to the Butterfly Effect Engine.

The Platform integrates with third-party services (e.g., Stripe, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Calendar, market data providers) for specific features. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Butterfly Effect Engine and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or financial damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Platform, including losses from investment decisions made based on its content.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the jurisdiction in which the Platform operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
